amnis sets foot in Europe with new offices in Vienna and Prague
- News
Just recently, amnis was granted a payment institution license issued by the Financial Market Authority Liechtenstein. With new local teams in Vienna and Prague, the fintech now sets foot in the European market.
Amnis Europe AG, a 100% daughter company of the Swiss fintech, became the first payment institution registered in Liechtenstein. The possibility of transferring its newly obtained license to other EEA countries within the framework of the free movement of services (EU passport) allows amnis to offer its services beyond Switzerland. This opens up enormous potential for amnis in a market of 23 million companies.
As part of the company’s first phase of expansion in Central and Eastern Europe, business activities have already been rolled out in Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, and Italy. To position itself optimally in the new markets and guarantee the best possible customer support, amnis has opened two offices in Vienna and Prague.
Moreover, not only the infrastructure was expanded, but also the personnel. With Gerhard Scharinger, amnis has gained a currency expert who has already made a significant contribution to market development for Western Union Business Solution in Central and Eastern Europe.
“I am pleased to be able to drive forward the expansion in Europe with a great team. SMEs are the heart of our economy and together with amnis, new opportunities and markets are opening up for SMEs”, says Gerhard Scharinger, Head Markets.
For the Czech Republic and Poland, amnis took on board Tomas Rojik, who has more than 15 years’ experience in the banking and foreign exchange market.
“It is exciting that Czech SMEs will be able to benefit from this innovative Swiss fintech solution and I’m honored to be part of the team. Amnis’ services are based on a simple, efficient, and transparent approach and I believe that such combination is a real value to many SMEs”, concludes Tomas Rojik, Country Manager Czech Republic & Poland.
amnis already serves more than 2’000 companies in Switzerland and is on a strong growth trajectory. In addition to traditional payment methods, amnis offers the option of making cross-border, real-time payments around the clock to suppliers within a client’s own PEER network. Soon, amnis customers will also be able to receive foreign currencies very easily via an IBAN account.
